Nerves got the better of me in Intro A, but everyone was so kind and encouraging. I was lucky enough to take someone's place in Intro B and came first. Thank you everyone for your help and friendliness, including the lady who held my horse whilst I got on! Hope to come again soon.

You're very accomodating [booking the arena for 3 horses in a row is a bit of a pain I should imagine] and thank you for helping out!
Can't wait to see you all again on Weds - twice in a week, aren't I lucky?!
Thank you again, it's brilliant to have such a friendly environment and venue so close to home.

The first time i brought him i felt awkward and like people would laugh if he refused, knocked poles down but i couldn't have been more wrong!! Great atmosphere and everyone is really encouraging (even if i sometimes feel a bit daft as one of the only ones with a horse and not a pony!) It has really helped his confidence jumping and hopefully before the end of the league we'll have a go at the 2ft and the 2ft3!
Ooh only thing though - you've got my surname wrong on your results link!! Its Allison, not Jackson!

Beth has come on in leaps and bounds because of it and we really enjoyed the Championship Finals on Saturday. The peoples Chase me Charlie was hilarious and I shouted myself hoarse at the Pairs timed jumping. It is great to come to a place that is so relaxed and helpful. Roll on the Winter League.

It was my first outing with my rehabilitated ex racer who got very stressy. The relaxed atmosphere and kind encouraging comments of both judge and lady stewarding in the morning made it an enjoyable outing in spite of our problems.

| | Date: | Tue 28 Apr 2009 19:21:16 BST | | Subject: | Beginner league NOVICE friday night show jumping 24/04/09 | | | I would like first to say a big thank you to all at Laughton Manor for all the hard work and dedication that clearly shows in the way things are run on site. My daughter thoroughly enjoys going along and if time was not of an issue she would do so much more. Obviously she is a NOVICE that enjoys having a go at show jumping on a horse that she loves dearly.
The only problem and this is found in all sports is that there were clearly one or two riders that were clearly not NOVICE or BEGINNERS and who ultimately should not have been present, let alone be placed.
If riders who are attending and who are clearly/obviously well trained, riding horses that are clearly well capable of much greater things then they should have the chance to jump but not be allowed to be placed in any way giving the real NOVICES a real chance at winning and therefore having a much happier time. This was noted by a number of riders on the night along with the many press ganged helpers.

Despite the drizzly rain there was a nice atmosphere, fantastic facilities - particularly the huge outdoor warm up arena with fantastic surface - and friendly and helpful staff(Also a big plus was the speed with which results were posted on the boards!)!! I will definitely be returning again soon and will be recommending my to my friends to do the same! Thanks again, see you soon ! :)
